Performance 'From earth YOU have come’

Recreated from Henning Christiansen's 'Kartoffel Opera' at 44 Møn.

"Fra jord er DU kommet" (“From earth YOU have come”) is an evocative sound performance that breathes new life into Henning Christiansen's iconic avant garde piece "Kartoffel Opera" (1969), which was performed at 44Møen in July. Using audio samples from the performance of “Kartoffel Operaen” by Aleksandar Timotic, Kejti Karaj, Anna Veronika Hargitai, and Christian Kosim performed at 44Møen in July 2024, artist Christoffer Theis, aka e.Trash, transforms the sonic landscape of “Kartoffel Opera” into a modern take of electronic composition and performance – becoming a visceral exploration of life, death, rebirth, and the eternal cycle that binds them.

Through a pop-cultural lens, the performance delves into the depths of human emotion while critically reflecting on humanity's complex domestication of nature and living organisms. The piece becomes a meditation on the interconnectedness of existence through sound and movement, addressing the fragile beauty of life and the inevitable return to the earth.
