‘Fear The Dome: WAR’ CPHFW 2024

‘Fear The Dome: WAR’ is the second chapter in the performance series that began with 'Netherworld', first introduced in the FINE CHAOS AW24 fashion show "Here, After, Eternity: Netherworld", presented during Copenhagen Winter Fashion Week. While Netherworld revealed the illusion and the seductive, hyper-controlled simulation designed to pacify the residents of The Dome - Fear the Dome marks the fracture point: the beginning of war.

This chapter shifts from passive dream to active resistance. The veil of perfection has started to slip, and cracks in the Netherworld's illusion have sparked unrest. Once entranced by artificial bliss, individuals begin to awaken, confronting the unsettling realisation that their thoughts, choices, and even memories were never truly their own.

Fear the Dome is about the conflict that erupts when systems of control are exposed. It explores the psychological and societal consequences of rebellion against manufactured reality - where surveillance, behavioral manipulation, and digital dependency collide with the human urge for autonomy and truth. The war is not just physical, but ideological: between those who choose to remain in illusion and those willing to sacrifice comfort for liberation.

Just as in our world, where technology offers both empowerment and domination, the narrative reflects growing concerns around data extraction, algorithmic influence, and the commodification of identity. It asks: what happens when the system fights back? When illusion becomes weaponized?

Fear the Dome is the sound of the war machine waking, the flicker of rebellion in the dark, where utopia fractures and the true cost of freedom is revealed.
